The poor morale of the Eastern Infantry usually end up with them fleeing and the whole plan come crashing down. Eastern Infantry hold the line while the Hillmen try to flank. Hillmen and Eastern Infantry can be used to an okay effect in tandem. Parthia has an awful selection of infantry in fact they only have three to choose from and they all suck. For people such as myself, who thrive on cavalry, this is a good faction to be. If you do not enjoy using cavalry you should not be playing as Parthia, it won't be enjoyable. Parthia has a policy of 'Do one thing and do it well'. This will make public order penalties quite the hassle when conquering nations other than Armenia. Parthia also has the unfortunate characteristic of being one of only two Eastern culture fations. They also have a lack of Rebel settlements surrounding them, forcing Parthia into early wars against Armenia, Scythia and The Seleucid Empire. They are backed into the corner of the map, meaning that you will not have to worry about being unexpectedly attacked in the rear. The geopolitical situation of the Parthians is both a blessing and a curse. Most of the regions in the surrounding Caucasus are not very rich but will be enough to get by. It will be your base for expanding into the richer lands of the Seleucians and Egyptians. Of these three, Susa is the most beneficial. They all have poor economy and if you don't expand quickly, you will not be able to survive economically. None of them are very useful settlements. Parthia starts with only three settlements, Arsakia, Campus Sakae and Susa. The early game determines how well you do later on. The first tip in succeeding as Parthia is understanding their opening situation.
